Let her be

I'm sure you ladies must faced the strange stare that you know is mentally undressing you bit by bit. And how many times have you avoided to react just to prevent some drama and chaos? Since when and tell when? Will this ever have a full stop?

Whatever you wear, however you carry it, doesn't really matter because they will still stick to the shameful gaze and judge every bit of you. We are conditioned to believe that hiding is the only way of life. And so, we grow up to believe just that.
"Look at her tattoo, she's definitely easy"
"With her body type, how can she even think of wearing dresses?"
She is free to decide the dress she wants to get in,
she will choose the lip shade she wants to wear,
she will decide the number of piercings on her body,
she will take care of herself.
She cannot be a part of social media because that's against her morals but he can definitely post shirtless selfies and mothers would still boast about it. He can return home at his own time but she has to hesitate every single time while asking them to move out. Stop prisoning her with 'log kya kahenge' and start embracing her with 'Akhir beti kiski hai' with chest full of pride and honour.
"Pakka aunty gaadi chala rahi hogi" comes from a male driver every time there's some nuisance on the road. Like come on, no woman applies mascara while looking at the rare-view camera while she's driving !
The fight for equality has been a long road and we are nowhere close at achieving it.
Celebrating international women's day yet not at it in the right means as she is still deprived with the basics.
Stop judging and start appreciating. She should be able to wear what wants, however she wants. It's time we change our attitudes, its time we change our perceptions! Enough of caging her, she wants to be free.
Please let her breathe, let her be.
