Festive/Wedding Makeup Hacks

Well it’s season of festivities! Also, that time of the year when you’ve got to attend parties and family weddings. While you’re already spending so much on the Lehengas, Shararas, Anarkalis and Chaniya cholis plus the accessories that cost not less than a fortune, I’ve got your makeup expense saved. You can’t compromise on your makeup and hence here are some of the hacks that I personally used until I owned those fancy makeup products like a concealer, highlighter, mascara, baking powder, etc. These hacks are super easy and you'll save a lot on your pockets too. I still use some of these on a daily basis and they've always done a pretty decent job for me :)

Hack no:1
Conceal using a red lipstick
I'm sure all of us own atleast one shade of red lipstick and that's all you need to conceal your dark circles.
Step 1: Apply a small dots of red lipstick under your eyes and dark spots (optional) and smudge it evenly onto your skin.
Step 2: Use your regular foundation and apply the same on the red highlighted area and blend well.
That's how simple it is !
Hack no: 2
Last minute highlighter
It's okay if you don't have a separate highlighter, the shimmer eyeshadow shall do the work for you. Use the lightest gold shade from your eyeshadow paletteand apply that on the high points of your face. I use the lightest one from Maybelline's Diamond Glow by Eyestudio palette in the shade 01
Hack no: 3
Long lashes using Petroleum jelly
Before applying your coat of mascara, use a earbud to put on a very small amount of vaseline on your lashes and eyebrows. This makes your lashes look longer and eyebrows thicker.
Hack no: 4
Tip to perfect pouty lips
Draw an M on your upper lip and an arc on your lowerone before filling in lipstick. This shall give you perfect pouty lips instantly.
Hack no: 5
Bake on a budget
After you're done concealing your under eyes, apply a little talcum powder on it. I use the Pond's powder to set my foundation in place and it works.

This was it for some of the hacks that I use to get the perfect festive/wedding makeup look when i'm running short of specific products. Do let me know if you try these out. Until then, Happy Diwali !
